A Quick Poem

Goodnight, goodnight,
my sweetness and light;
heart of my heart, soul of mine,
sleep well in this evening-time,
dream the dreams of joy and peace,
dream of pleasures that never cease
and know that when you wake again
I will be waiting with a grin
for, after my dreamless sleep is through,
I wake to the dream that is you.
